Steps from the Shin-Ichinohashi crossing, away from the busy end of Azabu-Juban. A family-run karaoke bar since July 2007: crystal strands hang from a black ceiling over fluorescent graffiti and violet neon. The regulars sing well, and when someone takes the mic, others harmonise. Come after dinner, as the second or third stop of the night.

A dark counter at night: freestanding white letters A and Z, a highball glass, a black microphone and a karaoke remote, and in front a plate of noodles with sliced pork, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots and a halved soft-boiled egg beside a small rice bowl.

Sing and drink until 3am.

A table-service bar. Sing at the counter, at a table or in a private room.
